TIME: 4:45 in the afternoon, on a Saturday the 22nd.

AT RISE:

CREEPY is in the jungle, angry inside.  His mother, MOMMA is in the jungle, laying down with all types of ideas on her mind that she is about to express.  She’s straining her eyes in thought and CREEPY is roaring.  They are walking back and forth.

CREEPY

(excited voice)  Man, I really want to move to the Zoo so that I can feel safe and relaxed not having to worry of dying in the wild.

MOMMA

(aside)  So if Creepy leaves, I might starve to death.  I hope he recognize this and look at the bigger picture, knowing if he leave, I and his little brother may die.  He’s the only person I can depend on.  I have nobody else to help me.  (calmly, to Creepy)  Baby, listen, I understand you want to move to the zoo so you can be safe, but your little brother and I need you.

CREEPY

But Mom, you have to understand that I’m doing something that is best for me.

MOMMA

(sadly)  So what about me and your little brother?  We need you to provide food for us.

CREEPY

(mumbling) Mom, I’m not grown.  I only can do so much.

MOMMA

(loudly)  But son, you are the man of the house.  You are going on 18 years old.

CREEPY

(confused)  Mom, why do you want me to stay in the jungle?

MOMMA

(seriously)  Personally, I don’t.  I want to move to a safe environment for you and your brother.

CREEPY

(excited)  How about the zoo?!  It’s nice and secured.

MOMMA

(sadly)  I don’t want you to hold a grudge on me- but son, you have to realize that a zoo have bars.  It may make you feel like you locked up.

CREEPY

(sincere)  The zoo is a good place.  But, Momma we will be safe and we can put on shows for people, and maybe we will be able to go to other countries and perform for the zoo.

MOMMA

I don’t feel that you are physically and mentally ready to move on your own.   (angrily)  Well, son, that would be nice, but you’re not old enough to understand what’s going on.  I been on this earth much longer than you.

CREEPY

(angrily)   So are you saying the zoo a bad place?

MOMMA

(serious)  NO,  I’m not saying that.  But it’s not a fact saying that you live happy in the zoo.

CREEPY

(anxious)  I get your point, but we really need to make an agreement on what we gone do.  I’m getting tired of waiting on you to make a decision.

MOMMA

(calmly)  Well give me some time to think about it, and I will tell you when I make up my mind.

CREEPY

(sad)  Well can you tell me as soon as possible?

MOMMA

(loudly)  I want you to stop bugging me.  But if you keep bugging me about it, I’m gone take longer to make my decision.

CREEPY

(low voice)  O.K.  (loudly)  But Mom, do you remember Bob and Sally?  They move to the zoo and I saw them.  They told me that it’s the best place to live.

MOMMA

(smart voice)  Have you seen it yourself?  How do you know if Bob and Sally is telling the truth?

CREEPY

Mom, they sounded real sincere.

MOMMA

That doesn’t mean nothing.

CREEPY

I want to see what the zoo is like.  Can we at least check the zoo out to see what it’s like for us?

MOMMA

(curious)  Do you feel by moving to the zoo that our lives will change?

CREEPY

(serious)  Yes.  I feel our lives would change because we won’t never have to worry about starving for food and we won’t have to worry about harm coming our way.

MOMMA

But honey, it’s more things to life.  You hit some important spots, but we can’t depend on the zookeepers to take care of us.  What if the zoo get set on fire while nobody is working?  We are going to be trapped.

CREEPY

But Mom, nothing’s going to happen like that…

MOMMA

Wait, how do you know?

CREEPY

Mom, the animal control shows up at 5:00pm, and it’s now 4:45pm.  We have to do something fast.

MOMMA

So they come in 15 minutes.  When is the next time they can show up?

CREEPY

(crying)  But today is the only time they can come.  So if we don’t leave, then we will never be able to move to the zoo.

MOMMA

Boy, you are almost grown.  Knock that crying off.  I’ve been on this earth for a long time and I’m not gone let you manipulate me.

CREEPY

(still crying)  But Mom, we really need to move.  I don’t see no success living in the wild.

MOMMA

Well, I never told you that your grandpa and grandma live in Hawaii and that’s one of the best island.  Would you like to go move with them?

CREEPY

(unsure)  I don’t even know my grandparents.

MOMMA

Well if we move to Hawaii, then you would get the chance to meet them both.

CREEPY

Are they nice?

MOMMA

 (excited)  Of course.

CREEPY

Mom, can you answer me honestly?  Are you trying to trick me out of the idea of moving to the zoo?

MOMMA

(serious)  No, son, not at all.  I just feel it would be better to move somewhere where we have family already living there.

CREEPY

Mom, honestly, your idea about moving with grandpa and grandma in Hawaii is a great idea, but I feel moving to the zoo is a shortcut to success for me.  Not only for me, but for us.

MOMMA

I want the best for you, son.  Son, if you are serious about whatever you want to do in life, then it’s possible to reach success.

CREEPY

(anxious)  Yeah, that’s true.  So now we have 5 minutes left.  So what are we going to do about this situation?  Time is ticking.

MOMMA

I feel Hawaii would be a great place to live.  I decide that we are moving to Hawaii.  Today is Thursday, we are going to start packing tonight so we can be ready first thing Saturday morning.

CREEPY

Mom, you know what?  I agree to move where ever you feel is best for us.  I know you want put me in a situation to hurt me in any type of way.

MOMMA

Son, I’m glad that you see I want the best for you.

CREEPY

So forget the animal control.  They should be showing up in 1 minute.

MOMMA

I’ll tell them that we got a change of plans.

CREEPY

(happily)  Mom, I’m about to start packing early.
