Breakfast
is ready. (Sees Jordan packing) What are you
doing? How come youre packing all that stuff for.
(Jordan is silent) Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, dont
tell me youre actually going to leave somewhere?
| Jordan: |
Dont
you know were going on a trip? You need to get
your socks and laces packed ASAP!
Timber
-land: |
Wait
a minute, what do you mean were going on a trip?
(Tim looks confused) I thought you were going by
yourself? |
| Jordan: |
(angrily)
By myself? No! You and Felix are coming with me.
Timber
-land: |
You know
I cant come with you. We already talked about
this. I have to stay here and take care of my boy. I
dont want Felix to grow up going place to place
all over the world. That wont be good for him.
| Jordan: |
Why
dont you bring Felix too. I think it will be a wonderful
experience for your child. He will love it over there. |
Timber
-land: |
How
do you know? You have never been to Europe in your life!
Dont you know how dangerous it is over there? They
have crazy governments and the laws are all upside down.
You dont even know any other languages to get around
with. This is just a bad idea Jordan, a bad idea! |
| Jordan: |
(Not
worried,continues packing his things)
Oh, stop being so negative. Its not that bad.
It might be a little different than here, but I think
we need a change in our life. Dont you? Arent
you tired of living here in this ghetto? Arent
you sick of all the crime an homeless shoes all over
our sidewalks.? And by the way, I know some other languages.
I watch foreign films all the time. And besides, people
speak English all over the world. (continues packing.)
Timber
-land: |
So
you are actually serious with
going on this
trip? Have you stopped and thought just for one moment
whats going to happen to me and Felix? (sad and
disappointed) We are going to be homeless and living
out on the cold and dangerous curbs with the rest of all
the dangerous and homeless shoes. |
| Jordan: |
Of
course I thought about that! How could I forget about
you guys. You are the only family Ive got. Thats
why you have to come with me. You know I wouldnt
have any fun without you guys. I love Felix just as much
as my own son, and you as my brother. |
Timber
-land: |
Yeah,
I know you do, but I just dont think this is a good
idea. |
| Jordan: |
What,
you think me leaving by myself is a better one. You know
I would never leave you guys. I want all of us to stay
together. We have been together practically forever. Ever
since when we were young and our parents died from the
horrible volcanic eruption that killed every shoe in California,
I didnt leave you. And now we have to stay together
too. So now Im asking you to help me like I helped
you. Theres no way Im leaving without you. |
Timber
-land: |
Well,
I guess I would have to agree with you there. Maybe it
wouldnt be a great idea to separate from each other,
but I still dont know about this. |
| Jordan: |
Cmon
Timberland, dont you want to see more of the world
and meet new shoes. Try different foods or learn more
about other heritages? |
Timber
-land: |
Allright,
suppose we do go to Europe, whos going to watch
over the house and take care of things around here when
were gone? We cant just leave because some
burglars might try to break in while were gone. Have you
thought about that? |
| Jordan: |
Im
way ahead of you Tim, my pal. George is going to watch
the house, water our plants, check the mail, take care
of the bills and things. |
Timber
-land: |
OK,
let me just ask you one more thing. What do you plan on
doing about paying all our traveling expenses? We dont
have enough money to survive for more than a month. |
| Jordan: |
Well,
you might not have it, but Ive been saving up since
last summer for this trip. Money is not the problem here.
The only problem is that you need to pack your things. |
Timber
-land: |
Hmm,
well allright, youve talked me into it, but the
only reason why Im coming is because you do make
a good point on staying together and not separating. You
know I dont know what Id do if something happened
to you. Youve always been there for me and now Im
going to be here for you. I hope Felix is going to be
happy with our decision.! |

The
End. |
