“When, instead of shuffling their feet and hiding their faces, the young writers stand with their heads held high, a broad smile on their faces and an undeniable fire in their eyes.”

The development of Each One Reach One's website was a joint effort of a group of students participating in San Francisco State University's Multimedia Studies Program (MSP), Teaming for Technology (Bay Area), and Each One Reach One, a non-profit organization.

The production team was composed of students enrolled in the MSP's Web Design Intensive Program. The Intensive is a 20-week full-time curriculum aimed at introducing students to the process of web design and imparting the critical skills to succeed in the burgeoning multimedia market. Drawing from expert instructors in the industry, students gain proficiency in multiple computer applications, graphic and information design, and production management.

The final project for this program is development and launch of an original website for a local Bay Area non-profit organization. This team collaboration provides valuable real-world experience for the students while benefiting the local community.

Teaming for Technology, in partnership with Americorps, IBM, and the United Way, serves low-income communities throughout the United States by acting as a liaison to groups that would benefit from technological development. Macromedia, a leading provider of web design applications, has generously donated software and training to the non-profit organizations so they can maintain and update their sites in the future.

The team members who created this website are:

Karen Bevis, Allen Chen, Marilyn Saarni, and Sheila St John.

Special thanks to Photographer, Geraldine Ann Wilson, for contributing many of our program photos.

The web design team would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to:

SFSU's Multimedia Studies Program, Faculty, and Staff for providing a superb curriculum and environment for creative learning.

The Web Design Intensive Instructors who were genuinely enthusiastic about teaching and mentoring.

Each One Reach One and Robin Sohnen for allowing us the privilege of representing on the web their passion for the arts and their love of youth. Thank you Robin for your patience and friendship.

Our Family of Student Colleagues who braved the truly intense 20-weeks with us. It is rare that such meaningful relationships are forged and such camaraderie is felt.

Craig Abaya for his vision of the industry and his commitment to our futures and the community at large.
