Each One Reach One's goals for its young writers are to: photo of mentor and student
  • Increase self-esteem and confidence

  • Increase comfort level in sharing ideas and feelings

  •  Enhance ability to trust an adult

  •  Provide opportunity for and recognize success

  • Develop group participation and communication skills

  • Increase appreciation for differing viewpoints and diversity

  • Inspire desire to read and write

  • Build ability to focus and follow through on projects

  • Be willing to change by taking risks and chances to improve their lives

  • Use their time wisely to build knowledge and get a good education by focusing on school, homework, study skills, and outside work

  • Discover, learn about, and feel more comfortable with themselves

  • Take responsibility for their actions by putting what is most important first

  • Develop the courage to address their lives realistically, identify  strengths, and make practical changes

Develop a plan that will help them to never come back to jail
